Legal Secretary – Conveyancing

Southwest London

Full time, permanent role

£26,000 - £31,000 + benefits

A reputable law firm in southwest London are looking to recruit a legal secretary to join their residential property team. You will be primarily supporting the head of department but may also be required to support other fee earners when required.

The firm work across a range of matters for businesses and individuals in London and the rest of the UK. They are friendly and approachable and focus on achieving the best outcomes for their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admin support to the conveyancing team, including managing correspondence, handling phone calls, and organising appointments and meetings.
  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including contracts, deeds, and completion statements.
  • Liaise with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other parties involved in property transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records.
  • Diary management for the head of department
  • Handle post-completion tasks, including stamp duty payments and Land Registry applications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a conveyancing secretary
  • Strong admin and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and conveyancing software.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

This role is initially office based for 3 months, after that hybrid working options are available
