We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant for a leading firm based in Peterborough..

Main duties will include:

  • Ensuring client and office accounts are kept up to date.
  • Producing invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance of the SRA’s Accounts Rules in relation to all tasks.
  • Sending all CHAPS and Faster payments daily within the specified deadlines.
  • Understanding and follow agreed procedure for reviewing and operating the banking software used.
  • Carrying out any transfers, ie. client to client, matter to matter, client to business (office), and disbursement to disbursement.
  • Logging anticipated and actual disbursements onto the ledger, which should be kept up to date on the accounting systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a legal cashier or similar finance role.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Calm under pressure; especially being able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.
  • Sound judgement and demonstrate a logical decision making process when dealing with problems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
