A highly respected High Street firm are seeking a Legal Cashier to join their busy office in Heathfield, East Sussex.

The successful Legal Cashier will join a small Accounts/Finance team, who are friendly, inclusive and hard working. This is a busy role, which requires a high attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The Legal Cashier will have duties such as (but not limited to):

  • Maintaining office and client ledgers
  • Ensuring the firm's bank accounts and books match up by performing bank reconciliations
  • Processing transactions (money in vs money out) by various financial mechanisms, including bank transfer and cheque
  • Producing daily, weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Ensuring that the firm adheres to rules set out by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)

The successful Legal Cashier will offer the following skill set/background:

  • Have at least 12 months experience of a cashiering/bookkeeping - ideally within a law firm, but a role within a finance/banking environment will also be considered
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail
  • Be naturally numerate with an affinity for numbers and data
  • Be IT literate - especially with MS Office and ideally with bespoke accountancy packages/CRMs
  • Be a supportive team player
  • Ideally knowledge of SRA regulations
  • Willingness to learn
