Eventus Recruitment Cheshire are seeking a Legal Cashier for a law firm based in Manchester City Centre. The successful Legal Cashier will have precious legal accounts experience, especially within conveyancing. You will benefit from 32 days holiday, performance related bonus scheme and employee discounts.

Role Responsibilities

The incoming Legal Cashier will have good working knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Rules and be familiar with conveyancing completions. Other tasks will include:

  • Support & cover for the processing of the online Bacs & Chaps Payments plus receipt allocating to the client a/c.
  • Taking card payment in the office and over the phone.
  • Assisting with billing.
  • General Posting on office & Client a/c.
  • Dealing with office to nominal transactions.
  • Processing client to client transfers.
  • Client account reconciliations.
  • Processing client to office transfers.
  • Dealing with daily banking.
  • Dealing with stopped cheques.
  • Dealing with Residual client balances.
  • Arranging BACS payments to clear residual client balances.

Person Specification

The successful Legal Cashier will have previous legal accounts experience as well as strong Microsoft Excel & Outlook experience. In addition, you will have:

  • Experience of working as a Legal Cashier in a Law Firm
  • Excellent working knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Rules and familiar with the conveyancing completion process/completion statements
  • Good attention to detail
  • Well organised
