Weston College Group has secured a long-term education contract at HMP Five Wells located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Construction to join our team in Education.

This role is full time, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day duties of the role

  • To deliver a high-quality curriculum delivering Construction courses
  • Organisational and administrative work.
  • Preparation, assessment and marking.
  • Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.

Required skills and qualifications

  • A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. In relation to vocational teaching posts an appropriate qualification in that field will be deemed satisfactory.
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.

About HMP FIve Wells

In partnership with G4S, RESTART (part of the Weston College Group) has been awarded the prestigious contract to establish the education department in the newly built state-of-the-art prison, HMP Five Wells. RESTART provides exceptional opportunities for residents to gain nationally recognised qualifications, in preparation for securing purposeful employment upon release.

HMP Five Wells is a privately run category C men's prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. At full capacity the prison can house 1,680 residents, making it one of the largest prisons in the UK.

The education department offers a range of Academic, Vocational and Creative courses to support residents with their future career aspirations.
