Experienced Learning Support Worker

  • Salary: £25,518 FTE plus £500 joining bonus
  • Location: Cranleigh
  • Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm)

The Charity are seeking patient and caring individuals to join their team as Experienced Learning Support Workers. The role is an excellent opportunity for health and social care workers looking to progress their careers and take on new challenges in adult care. You will be instrumental in supporting autistic adult learners, enhancing their well-being, independence, and social inclusion.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide support, care, and teaching to autistic adult learners.
  • Mentor and train new staff, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
  • Deputise for Senior Support Workers and lead group activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities to develop learners’ knowledge and skills.
  • Implement behaviourally based support strategies to improve learners’ quality of life.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, promoting hygiene and independence.
  • Facilitate participation in social, leisure, and educational activities within the community.
  • Support learners in accessing work experience and employment opportunities.
  • Monitor and track learners’ progress, adapting support strategies as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s licence or access to transportation due to the centre’s location.
  • Professional experience in adult care.
  • Completion of the Care Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Willingness to provide personal/intimate care as required.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
