Zest Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a prestigious pupil referral unit in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. The school is renowned for providing a top-tier learning environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, aged between 5-18 years old. This unique setting offers specialised interventions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students, ensuring a holistic approach to education.

Position: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)

As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide personalised 1:1 support to students, as well as facilitate group learning sessions. Your role will involve maintaining a consistent and nurturing approach to meet the individual needs of each student. We are looking for individuals with a compassionate and calm demeanour, who possess a deep understanding of child development and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs

- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to address student needs

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

- Support students in developing essential social and emotional skills

- Implement individualised learning strategies to maximize student potential

Qualifications and Experience:

- Previous experience in a school, residential, or care setting is essential

- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Commitment to the well-being and success of each student
