Learning Support Assistant (1:1 SEN Support) - Ware

Academics is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant, providing 1:1 support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, offering a competitive daily rate of £85. Position: Learning Support Assistant (1:1 SEN Support)

Location: Ware

Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored 1:1 support to a child with SEN, assisting them in their academic and personal development within the educational environment. Working closely with the child, teachers, and SENCOs, you will deliver personalised support, adapt learning materials, and implement strategies to meet the child's individual needs and promote their progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with SEN, assisting them with academic tasks and activities.
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to accommodate the child's learning style and abilities.
  • Implement strategies to support the child's social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Monitor the child's progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Uphold safeguarding and welfare policies, ensuring the child's safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support children with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the child and the school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
