Pay Rate: £12.10 - £15 per hour (assignment rate) dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours a week

Main Duties of the Learning Support Assistant:

  • Help both teachers and students, whether working with individuals or groups in the classroom, while fostering a passion for learning among our pupils.
  • Aim to facilitate their advancement towards positive academic and EHCP outcomes.
  • Always prioritise the safety and well-being of children and young adults.
  • Ensuring students remain focused and complete tasks assigned by teachers.
  • Addressing behavioural and special needs concerns collaboratively with the teacher.
  • Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans to support the curriculum and aiding in testing and assessment.
  • Identifying signs of behavioural issues, collaborating with external health, social, and enforcement agencies, maintaining behaviour management standards for students, some of whom may present challenging behaviours and complex needs, addressing instances of racial/abusive language and bullying.

 Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant:

  • Possession of a relevant Teaching and Learning qualification, trained to NVQ3 standard.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in supporting children and/or young people with SEN. Enhanced DBS/Children's Barred List check required. Crucial experience working with students with Autism.
  • Documentation verifying eligibility to work and reside in the UK. Completion of an Enhanced DBS/Children's Barred List check and possession of a clean UK Driving licence.
