Learning Support Assistant required - Permanent Position - ASAP Start - Lyndhurst

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' specialist school in Lyndhurst, Hampshire who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to start ASAP. This is a full-time, term-time, permanent contract.

The school provides education to pupils aged between 5-19 years who have significant emotional, social and mental health needs and display challenging behaviours.

The school provides a fully integrated and highly effective approach to education which is delivered on a 1:1 and small group basis with a high staff to pupil ratio. They offer individually tailored programmes to encourage social development, confidence and overall well-being. Being in such a nurturing and pupil focused environment gives them the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

They are looking for someone who is empathetic and engaging, with previous experience of supporting pupils with special needs (ideally emotional, social and mental health needs).

You will be required to support pupils in class on a 1:1 and small group basis. You must have excellent communications skills, high levels of self-motivation and the necessary drive and commitment to support young people with challenging behaviours to achieve.
