Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Cheshire (various locations)

Salary: £14+ per hour

Contract: rest of the academic year

Reed Further Education are recruiting Student Support Workers in Cheshire, full or part time for the rest of the academic year.

As a Learning Support Assistant (SEN), you will work closely with our students who have special educational needs (SEN). Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that these students can fully engage with their studies and achieve their potential. You’ll collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere.

What will a Learning Support Assistant do?

  • Work within an extended range of networks and partnerships to broker support and learning opportunities and improve the quality of services to all students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to provide targeted support to students with additional needs.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence among students.
  • Support students during class activities, exams, and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

The successful applicants will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for working with students with SEND.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 or equivalent) in education, special needs, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Experience working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
