Learning Support Assistant - Secondary SEN School, Basingstoke - ASAP start!

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' secondary SEN School in Basingstoke which caters for pupils aged between 11-16 years with moderate learning difficulties

They are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join their fantastic support team. This is a full-time, term-time, on-going/temp to perm position working 32.5 hours per week to start ASAP. You will ideally have experience of using, or an understanding of using Makaton.

Working hours: Monday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
Tuesday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.15pm

You will be providing learning and care support for students with special educational needs so ideally suited to an LSA with previous experience of working in an SEN school, or with pupils with additional needs. You must be able to demonstrate sensitivity, tact and resilience when dealing with challenging situations as well as being able to use your own initiative. Experience of using Makaton would be an advantage,
