Empowering Learning are supporting an independent SEN group based in London who are looking to appoint a Lead Primary Senior Teacher, to start in September 2024, on a permanent basis, within their West London provision.

As the Primary Lead Teacher, you will collaborate with the SLT and teaching staff to ensue the delivery of the specialist curriculum within the school, with your own teaching commitment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure high-quality delivery of the primary curriculum meets the needs of neurodiverse young people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
  • Work with Primary Teachers to provide arrange of opportunities for young people to experience and understand their learning in arrange of contexts,
  • Alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), support in the successful management of primary teaching resources, including the effective use of budgets throughout the academic year.
  • Support Primary Teachers in delivering cross-curricular opportunities especially focussing on the principles of therapeutic education and nurture.
  • Deliver lessons that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable, and with defined outcomes that link with their individual Education, Health ,and Care Plan.
  • Devise schemes of work, lessons plans and curriculum projects that are differentiated to meet the needs of the pupils, utilizing a full range of appropriate community facilities.
  • Understanding of the qualifications and accreditations available to pupils at a range of levels, collaborating with other Teachers and the Deputy Headteacher to ensure pupils undertake appropriate pathways to succeed.
  • Ensure Maths and English skills are functional and incorporated into all teaching.
  • Work with members of the educational and clinical teams to develop ways to close gaps across all curriculum areas.
  • Oversee the Quality of Education for Primary within your school/service alongside the Deputy Headteacher, working collaboratively with members of the School Support Team

Salary offered: £46,000 - £50,000
