Salary: Up to £550 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday

The Client:

Interaction Technical have partnered with a global industrial and energy company on their search for an experienced Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on a temporary basis for their site based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire until September 2024. As the Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will be leading and executing process/mechanical commissioning activities for a gas power project in Bedfordshire, until successful handover to the customer. The Role:

· Hands-on commissioning of process/mechanical components and systems such as, fuel supply system, firefighting and fire protection systems, cooling water, demin water systems and HVAC.

· Carry out and managing piping networks cleaning using various methods such as pigging, air blowing, flushing, etc.

· Carrying out testing on mechanical systems and equipment, as well as system optimisation and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols.

· Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.

· Managing and leading the team of mechanical engineers, electrical supervisors, technicians, etc. Participate in the Plan of the Day meeting daily providing resourceful inputs on the work progress.

· Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.

· Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.

· Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors.

· Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.

· Visual inspection of equipment/systems for correct and complete erection, adequate cleanliness, and safe access in consideration of related engineering documents, such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, system descriptions etc.

· Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.

· Manage the documentation submission for project close-out.

· Report to the Commissioning Manager and the Head of Commissioning, deputising as Commissioning Manager in his/her absence.

The Requirements:

· Minimum 7 years experience within power station mechanical commissioning activities (essential)

· Previous experience in a leadership/supervisory position (essential)

· Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering (essential)

· Knowledge of mechanical regulations and construction industry standards (essential)

· Proficient in schematic diagrams and mechanical system planning (essential)

· Previous experience surrounding mechanical engineering with the construction industry (advantageous)

· Full UK Driving License
