Lead Commissioning Engineer - Onshore Converter Stations


Location: Onshore Converter Stations in Hull and Redcar. Candidates must be flexible to work between locations.
Contract: 12-month initial term with potential for extension.
Role Summary: We are seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to oversee the commissioning activities at two different onshore Converter Stations. This role is critical to ensuring that all commissioning is completed on schedule and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee commissioning activities from project conception to completion.
  • Engage with stakeholders in regular joint commissioning meetings.
  • Liaise with the ESO for EON/ION requirements.
  • Collaborate with the completions department to ensure seamless transition from construction to commissioning.
  • Apply and restore commissioning protection settings to circuits.
  • Diagnose faults in protection circuits, including relay interrogation.
  • Develop commissioning switching programs/schedules.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to management.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer.
  • Experience working within Transmission substations.
  • Familiarity with NG ESO / NGET operations.
  • NG Persons authorization is advantageous.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide a team through the commissioning phase.
