Lead Accountant | Kettering | Business Consultancy | £50,000-£65,000

A permanent Lead Accountant job for a highly regarded business consultancy based in Kettering paying £50,000-£65,000.

You’ll be working for a highly regarded business consultancy based in Kettering who specialise in outsourced accounts, operations and supply chain for SME businesses allowing them to focus on new business and business growth.

You’ll be working as a Lead Accountant and will be responsible for defining and standardising finance processes across multiple teams. Your duties will include;

  • Developing Best Practices: research, develop, document and implement best practices in financial management, accounting, and reporting to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Streamlining Processes: identify inefficiencies in existing processes to develop and implement solutions to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
  • Ensuring Consistency: establish and enforce standards and procedures across all teams.
  • Internal Review of Best Practice: conduct regular internal reviews of and adherence to best practices. Identify shortfalls and risks and provide feedback to relevant departments to ensure resolution.
  • Training and Development: design and roll out comprehensive training programs, documentation and records based on identified best practices to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Provide Expertise in Financial Accounting: to keep your knowledge up to date and serve as the resident expert on financial accounting principles, standards, and regulations, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of operational processes in order to understand their financial needs, provide support and guidance, and ensure alignment with overall company objectives and strategy.

You’ll ideally be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar) although other experience will be considered. You’ll also need to have a proven track record of process improvement/simplification and excellent stakeholder management skills with people of all levels.

You’ll be paid £50,000-£65,000 and work a 37.5 hour week in a full time office based role. You’ll be working for a highly regarded local business based in a central location with excellent public transport links and close to a plentiful supply of local amenities.
