Salary and hours of Landlord Liaison Officer

  • £28000-£30000 p.a.
  • 37.5 hours per week 0900-1700
  • Based in our office in Sheffield S4 7JS

Purpose of role of Landlord Liaison Officer:

  • To form and maintain strong links of engagement with current and potential future landlords, property investors and developers, who are willing to provide private tenancies to vulnerable adults

Key tasks/objectives of Landlord Liaison Officer:

  • To form and maintain strong links of engagement with current and potential future landlords, property investors and developers, who are willing to provide private tenancies to vulnerable adults via our housing organisation.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with landlords, property investors and developers.
  • Understand how our guaranteed housing scheme works and sell this as a benefit to prospective landlords. This includes break clauses, undertaking all property maintenance and H&S checks.
  • Be very responsive to landlord requests and concerns.
  • Encourage landlords to place a high percentage of their properties with us
  • Organise and co-ordinate rent reviews and negotiate best rental values.
  • Email lease agreements for signature.
  • Understand property management to be able to check housing is fit for purpose, ie has a working boiler, no damp etc.
  • Working closely with the Housing Teams across all sites.

Person Specification of Landlord Liaison Officer :

  • Proven negotiation and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate information and produce comprehensive documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey important information effectively in person and via written correspondence. Must be able to demonstrate active listening skills.
  • Able to work flexibly and responsively - using initiative to overcome challenges.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Able to self-motivate and work independently and intuitively.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • An understanding of the needs and issues affecting vulnerable individuals.
  • Understanding the importance of compliance, safeguarding and risk mitigation in providing support services to vulnerable individuals.
  • Understanding the importance of effective quality assurance and the impact on service provision.Ability to implement policies and procedures, understand the importance of comprehensive internal processes, and contribute to their improvement and development.
  • A proven background in lettings, customer service and/or sales is beneficial.
  • A background in building, in a social housing environment, is advantageous.
