Role:Laboratory Test Technician (Metallic Testing)
Location: -Manchester

Russell-Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a background in metals testing to join a growing corrosion testing team in the Manchester area.
This role involves carrying out exposure testing for certification of metals for use in hydrogen sulphate oil and gas environments.

Responsibilities
• Routine testing at high throughput- carrying out corrosion testing programmes for the metallic specimens for oil and gas applications in a hydrogen sulfide environment.
• Carry out preparation and testing of samples to the lab following UKAS accredited test methods.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of activities to ensure that targets are met.
• Support the technical operation of the laboratory and ensure that the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records of observations and calculations.
• Preparation of metallic test specimens
• Safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous bottled gases.
• Preparation, maintenance, and operations of a variety of laboratory equipment.

The Person
• Experience in a chemical lab environment ideally.
• Experience of materials testing or metals testing.
• Ability to work at a fast paced
• Looking for an individual who is used to and familiar with hands on testing and problem solving.
• Ideally a degree or HNC/equivalent in a relevant scientific or engineering subject.
• Experience of handling chemicals
• Be health and safety aware.
• Passionate to learn on the job
• Excellent time management and organisation skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
