Your new company
Hays Education are looking for Primary Supply Teachers to fill live jobs and work in schools across Wigan and surrounding areas to cover in KS2 classes. At Hays, we look to provide schools with day-to-day cover as well as short and long-term vacancies. We are always interested in talking to teachers with any level of experience - whether you're an NQT/ECT, or an experienced teacher, full-time or part-time. Whether you are looking for day to day work to boost your experience or choose flexible working hours or are wanting something on a longer term or permanent basis, get in touch today.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for covering the KS2 classes and, in most cases, you will be delivering pre-planned lessons, or sometimes your own lessons for unexpected sick leave. You will be responsible for managing the classroom and ensuring all pupils are on task, as well as ensuring all behaviour is appropriate. By being in this role, you should be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils. You may be required to mark the work from the lessons you cover. In most schools there will also be the support of experienced TA's in the classroom whom you will be working with.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum is preferred, however, this could be a perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within the primary school environment.
What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity, working in some excellent schools. You'll receive:

  • A day rate of up to from £100 per day in addition to holiday pay
  • Free CV consultation with a dedicated education consultant to support your career goals
  • Access to the Hays App, where you can access your time sheets, holiday booking system, free training, well-being courses and a range of discounts and cash-back deals
  • A dedicated Hays consultant
