An award-winning consumer products business is looking for a driven and motivated Key Account Manager to join their team to manage their key retail accounts. This is newly created position due to continued company growth and success.

We are looking for someone with demonstrated Key Account Management experience working on own label / bespoke product with Key, Volume and FMCG retailers across home accessories, fragrance, beauty or similar. Creating market leading products and providing exceptional service is so key for this business, so you will be highly commercial and a natural relationship builder at all levels. Key responsibilities for this Key Account Manager include:
  • Responsibility for managing key and strategic accounts, building strong, positive working relationships
  • Getting to know your accounts in depth in order to fully understand their market and business needs.
  • Attending meetings with key retailers, representing the brand and ensuring expectations are not only met but exceeded.
  • Ensuring any specific labelling/packaging requirements are communicated in a timely manner to the wider business to aid swift and accurate delivery.
  • Working closely with the Buying team, Design, NPD Manager, Logistics, QC, Warehousing and Finance teams to ensure orders are delivered accurately and swiftly to customers.
  • Ensuring all required testing, quality checks and certifications are obtained.
  • Critical path management to ensure key dates are met for your accounts.
  • Managing and mentoring the Sales Support Team, including onboarding, training, workload management and development.
  • Working alongside our NPD manager to do regular market analysis and comp shopping to stay ahead of trends and competitor activity and help identify market opportunities.
Skills & experience required:
  • Strong experience in a similar Account Management position working with leading UK volume retailers is essential.
  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal English, and a natural ability to form good working relationships at all levels of seniority, both with internal teams and external partners.
  • A background working with FMCGs and experience in a working directly with buyers on private label product ranges essential.
  • Ability to manage complex accounts with high volumes and SKU counts.
  • Highly commercial with a passion for product.
  • Excellent at building relationships both internally & externally.
  • A customer-centric approach and desire to provide outstanding customer experience is a must.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting and report analysis, with fantastic attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Proactive & driven, wanting to take ownership and drive projects forward.
