Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.45am - 4.15pm and Friday 7.45am - 1.15pm

Our client is a multi-award winning, independent, global organization with an enviable reputation in the clinical research, development & manufacturing sector. Due to the company’s continued Global expansion in the delivery of our World leading, pre-clinical multi-modality imaging systems, the following vacancy, based at their facility in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, has been created. They are looking to recruit a Junior Buyer who is ambitious, and detail orientated to join the team.

Role

On a day-to-day basis, the Junior Buyer will be responsible for the purchase and expediting of direct and indirect materials and consumables, as defined by purchase requisitions.

  • Update part details with min/max stock levels, quoted costs and supplier part numbers.
  • Negotiation of prices with suppliers
  • Interrogate the system to check future requirements
  • Add, amend, and issue purchase orders on the system
  • Send purchase orders to suppliers, together with all required documentation (e.g., drawings, material specifications, etc), ensuring documents are to the latest revision
  • Check order confirmations against requirements
  • Expedite orders to ensure timely deliveries
  • Liaise with relevant internal parties regarding order schedules and/or delays as well as technical queries
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for goods receiving/shipping and all shipping related issues
  • Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products

Skills & Experience

  • Manufacturing knowledge and process-driven mindset
  • Understanding of company, analyse, review, and place purchase orders based on demand
  • Competency in MS Office packages
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and familiarity with engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of MRI manufacturing would be an advantage but not essential
  • A high level of attention to detail is required for this role
  • Someone with excellent organisation skills and a confident communicator
  • Should be comfortable with multitasking and changing priorities
  • Import/Export customs knowledge is advantageous
