This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, experienced and ambitious individual to join a collaborative and distinctive London based law firm and become an integral part of the business development team as a Junior Bids Manager.

The aim of the role will be to manage and constantly improve the way the firm approaches all forms of pitching. Overseeing the day-to-day management of a Bids Assistant, you will lead the bids function, advising fee earners on best practice throughout the pitch process from start to finish and helping to develop the pitch capabilities of the junior members of the business development team. You will provide professional bid management advice and guidance on developing competitive, commercial propositions, project managing the response process of all bids including credentials statements, RFIs, RFPs and panel pitches, advising on best practice and coaching presentation teams. The Junior Bids Manager will work closely with the in-house design team and act as a guardian of and lead on the usage of the firm’s pitching and proposals tool to prepare some pitch responses and house pitch material. The role holder will be responsible for providing end of year analysis on conversion rates and ensuring lessons learned are captured and communicated as appropriate. Monitoring market trends and competitor and client activity to ensure the firm is offering distinctive business-winning ideas will form an important part of this challenging role.

This role would suit an enthusiastic team player looking for a step up. Applicants will need to demonstrate previous success working in a pitch-focused role or a pitch-heavy BD role, ideally in the legal or professional services sector. A good understanding of "best practice" in winning new business in the legal environment is prerequisite. The Junior Bids Manager will also be able to demonstrate excellent project management and copywriting skills and will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of seniority.
