  • Providing a safe, cost-effective, and efficient care environment for patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Functioning clinically within the Operating Department and other associated areas as required.
  • Participating in the training of junior staff and continuing your own personal and professional development by rotating within the perioperative department.
  • Carrying out a full range of registered health care professional duties, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's condition and care with support from the Practitioner in charge.
  • Maintaining the privacy and dignity of all patients while adhering to trust and department policies, reporting any difficulties with these duties to senior staff.
  • Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous, and legible written records of care where required and accurately completing the perioperative care plan (ORSOS) and being a signatory for the Operating Register.
  • Using effective communication, written and verbal, with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives, taking into account impairments, levels of consciousness, and language barriers.

This is a JR100509 Theatre Practitioner - Scrub role at 37.50 hours a week across flexible shift patterns. Salary is up to £42000 + Benefits (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)What you'll need to succeed

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
  • 12-months experience in a theatre setting is desirable
  • Minimum 6 months experience of general scrub
