Behaviour Support Mentor for SEN School in Okehampton

Are you a seasoned ex-security, forces personnel or a ex-police officer seeking a rewarding career change? We are currently recruiting for the position of Behaviour Support Mentor at a specialised Special Educational Needs school in Okehampton. This role involves working with secondary age pupils with trauma-based needs and challenging behaviour, providing crucial support to ensure their safety, care, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with secondary age pupils outside of their lessons, offering behaviour and emotional support.

· Ensure the safety and well-being of students within the school environment.

· Work collaboratively with the school staff to implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour.

· Provide empathy and understanding to pupils with additional learning needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Previous experience working in a challenging environment.

· Strong skills in managing the behaviour of young people.

· Empathy for pupils with additional learning needs.

· Ability to commit to a full-time, long-term position.

Working Hours:

8:20 am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday.

Term time only basis.

Remuneration:

Competitive daily rate: £102 to £112 per day, depending on experience.
