Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience as you complete a IT Cloud Network Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship. 

Your purpose will be to provide a customer focussed, high quality and timely IT support service to Trust staff, pupils and visitors as required.

Salary:
£22,071 per annum.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Ensure that IT hardware across the curriculum areas of the Trust is at all times functional and ready for use in accordance with curriculum requirements through regular inspections of IT suites, printers and other hardware
  • Undertake any repairs as required, seeking assistance from the Trust Network Manager and technical colleagues when necessary
  • Provide technical problem solving on hardware and software issues to staff and pupils as appropriate
  • Ensure that ICT equipment and workstations meet the requirements of health and safety legislation
  • Manage the helpdesk and tickets, escalating to the Trust Network Manager where necessary
  • Set up and take down audio visual equipment, laptops and conferencing equipment when booked or as necessary
  • Change passwords and User accounts as directed by the policies of the Trust and as requested by the Trust Network Manager
  • Undertake tasks as appropriate and defined by the Trust Network Manager or Director of IT

No job description can be exhaustive, and the duties may alter in practice over time, as is the nature of IT. 
The post holder is expected to use their professional judgement to ensure that the role continues to evolve and develop in line with the Trust’s changing requirements. 

Location:
The IT Support team is a central service of The Park Academies Trust. 

As such there may be a requirement to work in other locations as part of Trust activities. Initially however, Abbey Park School SN25 2ND or Highworth Warneford School. 

  • SN6 7BZ will be your primary place of work.

Job Scope: 
The post is an apprentice position, meaning you will have a demonstrable minimum knowledge of your IT skills, as well as a visible passion to learn more and grow with the Trust.

This role can be physically demanding requiring manual handling and working around and under desks when the job requires.

What we are looking for: 
Essential knowledge & experience:

  • Experience of the use of a range of IT equipment and applications
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of the components of a PC, and how to troubleshoot
  • Approachable and able to communicate well with people of all backgrounds and ages
  • Be approachable and available to all staff to assist them to make the greatest use of IT to deliver lessons

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. 

Staff must work in accordance with the South West Child Protection procedures and Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy and understand their role within that Policy.  

  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required. 

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects:
Our Apprentices are often offered permanent contracts with the Trust on the successful completion of the programme but there are also opportunities for other employment or further apprenticeships elsewhere.
