About the Role…

Our Finance Department has a new opportunity for an Internal Controls Manager. As part of the 'Finance Process & Controls’ team, you will be a critical part in helping EG Group to bring control, quality, standardisation, and improved ways of working.

Having grown rapidly in recent years, largely through a series of acquisitions, EG Group has inherited several different processes and systems from its acquired companies. The Internal Controls Accountants play a vital role in measuring the performance of Finance Controls to ensure that processes, controls follow agreed controls within set monthly cycles; The IC Manager will use KPI’s to measure and report to a wide array of stakeholders.

This role will have significant impact across Finance and the wider business. The role holder will be part of the Finance Process and Controls team, made up of circa 8 people, reporting into the Head of Finance Process and Controls. They will work alongside existing BAU teams in Group and transactional teams to create solutions that can be maintained long term.

The ability to create strong relationships, enjoyment of improving things for others and being able to turn data it into meaningful information in a clear, often graphical format will all be key.

Duties & Responsibilities

Internal Control Manager

  • Acting as 2nd line in Controls Desig and Implementation within finance at EG
  • Stakeholder management to ensure good progress and compliance of Controls
  • Performance reviews to ensure that internal controls are followed in accordance with company established guidelines, policies & procedures.
  • Conduct workshops to increase the level of awareness across the organization.
  • Maintain a database for Internal Control recommendations and change management.
  • Conduct periodical control assessment and monitoring other department self-assessment and assure that operating risks are mitigated and report deficient or ineffective controls.
  • Manage, review, and maintain corporate control documents.
  • Oversee the development of the Management Guide and Operational Manuals
  • Support implementation of risk controls for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of Internal Controls Environments or Audit
  • Data management and producing high quality information is critical.
  • IT literate, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Happy working with data and people.
  • Experience of operating in a relatively complex business.
  • Have an inventive and pro-active mind-set to independently identify and resolve data related issues.

Preferred but not essential:

  • SAP S4 Hana
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior staff
  • Power BI/ Advanced Excel skills
  • Blackline Reconciliations
