We are currently assisting an emerging International banking firm with its search for an Interim Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about combating financial crime, offering the autonomy to establish and enhance the framework for this function.
You will play a pivotal role in conducting bank-wide assessments of financial crime risk and conducting ongoing monitoring to advise the organisation on risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of financial crime, particularly in developing and maintaining policies within the realm of international payments. Also, engaging with senior stakeholders, you will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure robust controls are implemented and to relay updates on regulatory requirements related to financial crime.
 

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in a second-line financial crime role within the banking sector.
  • Prior exposure to payments, cards and international banking is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise at the Deputy MLRO (DMLRO) or MLRO level, with experience in Senior Management Function 17 (SMF17) preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various areas of financial crime, including AML, counter-terrorist financing, anti-bribery, and fraud.
  • Strong familiarity with FCA and broader regulatory frameworks such as MLR, FATF, and JMLSG.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills to facilitate communication and collaboration across the organisation.
