Interim Head of Finance

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Interim Head of Finance to join a dynamic and growing organisation in South Shields. Reporting to the COO, your duties will be as follows:

  • Delivering finance objectives on an annual and strategic basis
  • Ensuring monthly management accounts are produced to strict deadlines
  • Preparation of annual and three-year draft budget
  • Ensuring budgets are well managed and addressing variances from budget
  • Monitoring income and expenditure against allocated revenue
  • Monitoring cashflow and following up any concerns arising
  • Managing bank accounts, procurement cards, BACS, investments and VAT
  • Ensuring monthly reconciliations of the bank and key control accounts
  • Annually reviewing financial policies, processes, and procedures and recommending changes to the Board as required
  • Leading the production of the annual report and financial statements and returns to statutory and funding bodies
  • Managing the prompt collection of debts and the payment of creditors
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and inventory records
  • Responsible for the financial strategy of the organization and advising on any matters relating to this.
  • Leading the finance team to develop financial procedures to maintain and improve financial sustainability.
  • Responsible for effective systems of internal audit control

You will be a qualified Accountant and will have worked in a similar role previously. Strong leadership skills are essential.
