As they continue to grow and evolve, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as an Interim Head of Category on a 6-month contract basis - outside IR35

Role Overview: As the Interim Head of Category, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing a robust category management structure within the organisation. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strategic mindset and proven category management experience, preferably from a distribution or retail background, to make a significant impact on our business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive category management strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Analyse the market, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within each category.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of category plans, including assortment, pricing, promotions, and placement.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor category performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, ensure product availability, and drive innovation.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the category management team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Utilise data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize category performance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Head of Category Management or similar role within the distribution or retail industry.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category management strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen understanding of market dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Results-oriented mindset with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to execution.

Contract Duration: 6 months - outside IR35
