TristoneNash have partnered with an organisation in their search for an Interim Head of Compliance for an initial 6 months with the view to extend. You are required to be office based at least two days per week and the rest are worked from home.

As the head of department for landlord compliance you are responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of all building safety & landlord compliance services. You will play a key role in shaping, developing and implementing services to provide homes in communities. You will also bring strategic thinking and planning to meet the objectives set by the company. You will work closely with other service leads across the business to develop and improve services that are valued by our customers.

Role:

  • Deliver the strategic and corporate plan
  • Understand strategic priorities, ambition and Key Performance Indicators KPIs and ensure your team understand how they contribute to achieving them
  • Manage, coach and develop your team to deliver an effective and consistent service, ensure they are resilient, open to change, willing to challenge our ways of working, empowered to make informed decisions and confident in taking personal ownership and responsibility for their actions
  • Prepare budgets and operational plans and manage your financial and colleague resources to deliver optimum performance, positive customer and business outcomes and value for money
  • Actively seek and act on customer feedback, both directly and through using data and analytics and use this and performance data to inform service planning and delivery
  • Ensure that complaints are resolved within a reasonable timeframe, complainants are kept informed, trends are identified and action is taken to address systemic issues
  • Own and continuously improve processes, systems, data and performance in your area using systems thinking / OD principles and a data-based approach
  • Be alive to opportunities and adopt a systems thinking approach to the design of services and tenders/bids
  • Keep up-to-date with legislative change and best practice developments in your functional areas, advise on their impacts and make recommendations for change accordingly
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities affecting your area

Experience required:

  1. Highly developed skills in property maintenance and landlord legal compliance in a housing association or closely related field
  2. Significant skills and knowledge in all matters relating to legislation and good practice that affects property management services
  3. Strong financial management skills and able to present within reports / presentations for a wider audience
  4. Have a clear understanding of risk management
  5. Strong contract management and negotiation skills
  6. Experienced in leading multi disciplinary teams, specifically in the delivery cyclical, compliance and project based safety works within domestic and commercial properties
  7. Experience of working in a senior management role and be able to demonstrate experience of contributing to wider teamwork planning and strategic management
  8. Experience and knowledge of key areas including WHQS, HHSRS, Customer Satisfaction and contract management
