Interim Financial Controller

Robert Half are exclusively recruiting an Interim Financial Controller for an market disrupting start up FinTech business. This is a fantastic opportunity for exposure navigating regulations, setting up robust financial reporting/processes and being involved in strategic conversations with investors.

What you will be doing:

• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial records
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by preparing and submitting all mandatory financial statements to stakeholders such as company registers, exchanges, and prime brokers, and liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary
• Implement and monitor financial controls and establish a robust internal control framework to safeguard the organisation's assets and minimise financial risk, considering the regulatory environment
• Identify and manage financial risks unique to the business, implementing controls and strategies to protect the company's financial well-being
• Foster relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication about financial performance and compliance in the UAE, UK and other relevant jurisdictions

What we are looking for:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA etc)
• Experience in a financial management position, with a preference for backgrounds in FinTech
• Comprehensive understanding of UAE financial statutes, tax laws, and regulations *This could potentially be relaxed if all other requirements are met / ideal candidate*
• Demonstrated success in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, emphasising adherence to local practices and regulations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for effective collaboration with both local and international teams
• Proficient in accounting software and systems; familiarity with blockchain technology and crypto accounting practices would be advantageous
• Experience working in a tech-based start up is strongly preferred

I typically manage Senior Interim Finance contracts, this ranges from project roles around financial modelling, system implementations, statutory accounting, acquisitions and interim requirements cover permanent roles.
