Interim Financial Controller role

  • 4-6-month interim assignment while the company goes through their own permanent recruitment process
  • Managing a team of 10 in total (including 3 x interim contractors)
  • Responsible for financial reporting, planning and analysis - Managing a team of Finance Managers, Finance Business Partners and Commercial Analysts
  • Reporting to the FD/ CFO

    Reporting:
  • Drive the month end close process and delivery of monthly/ quarterly management reports
  • Ensure proper analysis of budget variances and performance of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure the Finance team works closely with operations to support their understanding of the financial performance, which in turn allows them to provide insightful analysis to investors.
  • Oversee involvement in audit processes over statutory accounts, ensuring requests from auditors are addressed on a timely basis

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and re-forecasts and budget
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with operations to ensure finance provides the required support and challenge in these planning processes.

Financial Analysis:

  • Oversee the production of reactive and proactive analysis to provide insights into performance.
  • Supports business performance by providing cost data for operations, which allows the team to implement effective cost control measures.
  • Develop a suite of relevant KPIs and analyse trends

Transformation and business changes

  • Participate in relevant projects for finance and business processes optimisation

  • Oversee the businesses' involvement in audit processes over statutory accounts, and ensure requests from property auditors are addressed on a timely basis

Essential:

  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified accountant, with 10+ PQE
  • Experience of interim/ contract work
  • Able to start immediately/ within a week
  • Line management experience, building and motivating strong teams
  • Strong Excel skills
  • At least 3 days a week are required on site in the Bristol office
