An interim Financial Accountant opportunity in one of Cheltenham’s most sought-after employers. Based within the central finance team, working on several projects for continuous improvement.

Role overview
This is an interim role for a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) within the Central Finance Team. Core responsibilities include:

IFRS 16 Lease Accounting - managing financial accounting and reporting for Leasing at month end and provide relevant financial disclosures.
Leased Asset and Liability Balance Sheet reporting, setting up of processes and reporting
Estimate and Balance sheet Forecasting for this area.
Management and Employee Bonus Calculations/Payroll Support: management and development of an Excel based model covering multiple business units
Preparation of monthly associated balance sheet reconciliations,
Review of monthly payroll journals, review of and update the payroll system postings on to the ERP system.
Responsibility for accounting for Share Based Payments and liaising with Group where required.
Team cover for the following areas:
Fixed Asset Register reconciliation and reporting
Resolution of balance sheet reconciliation unreconciled items
Central Finance Journals review.
Support on VAT and tax returns across UK and Ireland.
Management accounting journals and accounting for Capex projects.
Ad Hoc projects, tasks, and responsibilities such as leased asset reporting improvements and cashflow forecasting.

Qualifications and experience

Fully Qualified accountant with PQE and sound Financial Accounting ability Able to review a new accounting query and propose best accounting treatment. A self-starter with experience working in a busy finance function Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, able to work with multiple stakeholders Effective and proven negotiation skills with ability to influence decision making Confident in Excel, spreadsheet modelling and Word Experience with working with ERP systems, and ability to pick this up easily.
