Job Description

We are looking for an experienced ER Manager on an interim basis to work with our team in the Milton Keynes office.

The ideal candidate will have significant ER case management experience in advising on tribunal claims, coaching and developing colleagues, advanced employment law knowledge and CIPD level 5 or relevant qualification.

Your aim will be to deliver a first class customer focused Employee Relations service by providing commercial and legally sound advice on employee relations matters. Manage and coach a small team of ER Specialists, being the escalation point for complex and high risk cases. Deputise in the Head of People Managements absence. Provide expertise and leadership in the fields of employee relations, diversity & inclusion, employment law and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Group Head of People Management in the delivery of relevant aspects of the People Plan by leading in the management and coaching of Employee Relations Specialists, you will apply relevant employee relations approaches and solutions, to provide clarity and support to our Managers, business leaders and teams
  • Consistently delivering a professional and proactive approach, enabling managers to achieve their objectives, through coaching, and the provision of ER advice that is prompt, persuasive, effective, and evaluates risk. This will include areas such as: Performance Management, Disciplinary, Grievance, Whistleblowing, Absence Management, Diversity, Tribunals etc.
  • Providing training to the ER Specialists, being a role model and offering support and guidance where appropriate
  • Supporting changes to and / or the implementation of any new ER policies and procedures. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Group HR Transformation to ensure full understanding and embedding of new ways of working.
  • Proactively identifying trends and opportunities to improve the ER support and service for our people. Working collaboratively with colleagues to use this insight to evolve and develop ER approaches and solutions.
  • In conjunction with the Group Head of People Management, co-ordinate and oversee the Group’s response to employment disputes including Employment Tribunal cases.
  • Provide guidance to management on appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Ensure successful commercial and reputational outcomes for the Group from both a commercial and PR aspect
  • Acting as a visible advocate and role model, creating an environment where our values are consistently demonstrated through your own and colleague’s behaviors.
