Your new role
The role involves servicing the business wide-ranging technical underwriting and claims committee structure, including all non-life (re)insurance business classes, and supporting colleagues on technical underwriting, claims, regulatory and operational issues arising in the London market.The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the London market, working closely with active underwriting, broking, claims and legal representatives.

  • Organizing and Managing Committees: Responsible for overseeing committees and working groups, ensuring their efficiency, and addressing challenges.
  • Member Engagement: Actively participates in meetings with member company representatives, prepares agendas, reports on actions, and takes minutes.
  • Technical Work Streams: Leads and contributes to technical work streams, including drafting model clauses, guidance documents, and policy positions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engages with domestic and international governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders to represent views.
  • Market Research and Development: Researches and presents on relevant market issues, maintains website content, and continues personal and technical growth.
  • These responsibilities contribute to the effective functioning of the business and its engagement with the insurance industry.



What you'll need to succeed
Education: GCSE English language and Maths at Grade 6 (or equivalent) / Three A-level passes (or equivalent).Beneficial: An undergraduate degree.Desirable: Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications or progress.Valuable Experience: Exposure to London market underwriting, broking, or compliance support.Key Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivation and effective workload management.
  • Strong reasoning and analytical abilities.
  • Team-oriented with patience and understanding.
  • High integrity, resilience, and accountability.
  • Adaptability to changes in the workplace and the wider London market.
