Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Instructor/Technician in Media, Art and Design at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of Pro rata of £23,151 (i.e. £13,890.60) per annum.

The Instructor/Technician in Media, Art and Design role:

Do you have a background in Art, Design or Media and are looking for that ideal part time role that fits around your other responsibilities?

As our Instructor Technician in Art and Design at Chichester College, you will support the busy Media, Art and Design team of this outstanding College by preparing classrooms for teaching, maintaining and repairing equipment, booking equipment in and out, ensuring equipment is charged and ready to use and supporting the teaching and learning in the classroom. This is the ideal role for someone looking for a part time job in Media or Art, and we can be flexible with the working pattern, enabling you to undertake the school run or any other responsibilities you may have.

Key Responsibilities of ourInstructor/Technician in Media, Art and Design:

  • Undertaking administration related to course requirements and provide reports and statistics as required.
  • Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support.
  • Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required.
  • Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintainance of resources, services and housekeeping.
  • Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
  • Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
  • Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans.
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment and prepare replacement plans.

Our ideal Instructor/Technician in Media, Art and Design should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
  • Relevant industrial/subject experience
  • Experience following/applying Health and Safety procedures
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Committed to student support
