My client, a leading global freight forwarder, is looking to recruit an energetic, target driven individual to join its commercial team.

There may be scope for hybrid working once probationary period has been successfully completed.

ROLE: Inside Sales/Telesales

LOCATION: Hybrid/Midlands

SALARY: Negotiable dependent upon experience plus uncapped commission

HOURS: Monday to Friday 9 am - 5.30 pm

About the position:

Working within the European Roadfreight sector, the Inside Sales Executive will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing gained business with the aim of growing top line revenue and Gross Profit. Working closely with the Product management , Operations, Sales teams and the wider European network.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and priorities personal activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims ,including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity
  • Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory according to an agreed market development strategy.
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction
  • Source sales leads. Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems
  • Record, analyse, report and administer according to systems and requirements
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Contributes ideas and suggestions to support the continued growth of the company

  • Delivers a quality customer/client service
  • Develop a healthy Pipeline and convert new business in line with agreed targets.
  • To provide effective Product Services and Solutions, whilst increasing the company’s revenues through negotiating the maximum amount of profit for the business working with carriers and vendors alike in order to achieve the most cost effective solution.
  • After an initial induction / training period which will cover product knowledge and systems, you will be responsible for developing your own customer base. You will have the freedom to develop you own tailored transportation solutions and price business accordingly, but you’re not alone! Product operations will be there to support and deliver a great service.
