Salary: £42,564 - £47,695 per annum + Benefits!

We are now recruiting for an Infrastructure Permanent Way Team Leader to support our mission to provide a safe and secure, reliable, sustainable tramway.

You will lead the Rail Services Infrastructure team with efficiency, ensuring that maintenance and repair tasks are performed with the utmost safety and effectiveness and that all assets are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

As our Infrastructure Permanent Way Team Leader, you will:

  • Efficiently lead the Rail Services Infrastructure team to ensure all maintenance and repair activities are conducted with precision.
  • Prioritise tasks to uphold a reliable tram service.
  • Oversee thorough inspections and diagnoses of switches, crossings, and bespoke pieces of S&C.
  • Ensure network track geometry is maintained within prescribed maintenance limits.
  • Evaluate survey findings and promptly resolve identified issues.
  • Ensure all maintenance records are completed in a timely manner and maintain the accuracy of the Asset Management Information System.
  • Routinely report on delivery of planned and reactive maintenance to the Infrastructure Manager.
  • Create scope of works for PWay repairs and contractor support and provide oversight of planned works.
  • Organisation of small to large projects and tasks.
  • Assisting with the development and continued improvement of the Asset Management Information System.
  • Assisting in commissioning of new PWay systems.
  • Continuous assessment and improvement of working practices embracing new technologies.
  • Manage personal development of team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Worked within the rail industry for more than eight years in a similar maintenance environment role.
  • Excellent leadership, guidance, and mentorship experience.
  • Experience in switch and crossing inspection and understanding detailed drawings.
  • Experience in track geometry and data review.
  • Experienced in Risk management for PWay defects.
  • Use of gauges and other precision measurement equipment.
  • Competency in PWay maintenance and repair practices and plant.
  • Demonstratable computer literacy and report writing skills
  • Industry qualifications in permanent way maintenance at Lvl 4 or above

It would be great if you had:

  • Professionally registered with the PWI
  • IOSH
  • Management and Leadership ILM 3 or equivalent
  • SO53/1054 competency
