At Grundon, we operate our own industry-leading treatment and disposal facilities, including the UK's most modern high-temperature incinerator for secure disposal of clinical and hazardous wastes, near Heathrow. If you are keen to build on your 5 years+ experience working in an incinerator facility, are good at motivating others and are happy with a 4-on-4-off shift pattern, could you be our new Incinerator Operator? We're offering a permanent contract, competitive salary and access to a host of benefits, including:

What you'll be doing as Incinerator Operator 

- Working closely with the Shift Supervisors, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the incinerator in full compliance with relevant environmental permits and the IMS system.

- You’ll be responsible for monitoring emission levels and making adjustments to the plant controls through a SCADA system. 

- Working with the site chemists to follow burn lists and programmes of work to safely process volatile wastes. 

- Making sure daily, weekly and monthly checks and maintenance are completed and recorded.

- Reporting any shift issues and arranging appropriate contractors.

- Assisting with the health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors and visitors within the incinerator building.

What we are looking for in our Incinerator Operator 

- An understanding of SCADA, CEMs and weighbridge operations

- Preferably, environmental permitting experience

- Basic IT skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel 

Working hours: Shift system of 4 days or nights on followed by 4 days or nights off. Your average working week will be 43.87 hours.  Your normal shift will be 12.5 hours, starting day shift at 6.45am and finishing at 7.15pm, and night shift 6.45pm to 7.15am
