Secondary Humanities Teacher
ASAP, possibly till after May Half term

A secondary academy in St Helens seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination, and energy for this rewarding role.

We are seeking applications from both experienced and aspiring Humanities Teachers. The school is are committed to delivering the best possible Humanities curriculum and the current Faculty leadership structure is a Head of Faculty and a Second in Faculty - each to lead one of Geography or History.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS:

  • Location -St Helens
  • Position - Humanities Teacher
  • Type of work - Teaching
  • Start date -Easter 2024
  • Likely Duration - ongoing until May 2024, possibly longer
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - from £140 per day
  • Hours - 8:15am - 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Mathematics (however, it is not essential that it is Maths related)
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Maths
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80
  • Provide a minimum of two professional references
