Job Title: Humanities Teacher

Job Type: Long Term (Feb half term - End of school year)

Location: Stowmarket Area

Salary: MPS/UPS

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team at a social, emotional and mental health needs school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality lessons in History, Geography, and other humanities subjects to students in Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging and varied lessons that are tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Ensuring that the curriculum provides context and is linked to the real world, as well as the school’s social, emotional and mental health needs curriculum.
  • Supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs, and helping them to develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

Requirements:

  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Experience working with students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. History, Geography, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
