Salary: 45K + 5K car allowance (or car)
Hours per week: 40 hours per week.

leading civil and electrical engineering construction company that operates throughout the UK on major road, rail, and airport infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients.

Position Summary:

Leading civil engineering company requires a Health and safety advisor for the North West area. Your role will involve visiting the client construction sites, advising on health and safety matters, conduction safety reports and making sure all safety legislations are being hit, there is travel involved as it site based and a car will be provided.

Key accountabilities / responsibilities include:
* Knowledge and practical implementation of Health and Safety legislation.
* Monitor and Ensure company compliance with internal management systems.
* Site based role that includes working around the country and night shifts as required.
* Conduct Internal HSEQ support.
* Reporting findings to the HSEQ manager.
* Communicate across the company from site operatives to directors.
* Champion safety and engage with workforce representatives.
* Conduct incident investigations and report findings.
* Develop and submit site-specific safe systems of work documentation e.g: RAMS, CoSHH, lift plans to client for review and approval.
* Be client facing and represent the Company in HSEQ matters where required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications
* Hold a recognised safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH, BSC etc).
* Highly developed communication skills.
* Well-developed investigation and auditing skills.
* Demonstratable understanding of Health and Safety law.
* Experience of team working and self-management when working on site.
* Computer literate.
* Strong interest in the legislative, regulatory, and good-practice standards
* Valid driving licence.
* Able to work night shift should the requirement arise.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications
* Demonstratable understanding of Environmental law
* Demonstratable understanding of Lift Plan requirements.
* Proven track record of reporting issues as well as good news
