We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team traveling across our operating areas across the South. 

We are happy for the successful applicant to be based out of any of our Offices in either Basingstoke, Bristol, Christchurch, Newbury or Exeter.

You should have a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle and be happy to travel.

The Role:

We've just launched our new Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and this role is key in supporting the delivery of this as well as promoting visible safety leadership. You'll be central to driving a positive safety culture and providing professional, trusted and clear advice to the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Using your health and safety knowledge to provide confident expert coaching, advice, and guidance to key stakeholders, working in collaboration to drive continuous improvement
  • Reviewing and developing policies, procedures and other Health and Safety documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and corporate standards
  • Leading, supporting, and offering guidance in incident management, providing technical expertise on root cause analysis, systemic learnings, and preventative measures
  • Conducting audits and inspections, producing reports that identify gaps, actions and good practices as well as leading and supporting the development of hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
  • Leading and supporting on the delivery of projects and incentives to drive continuous improvement
  • Designing and delivering training courses that are engaging and effective, using a range of delivery techniques
  • Supporting and providing advice on DSE and office related risks

What we need from you:

You should have demonstrable experience as a health and safety advisor, with a relevant qualification such as the NEBOSH General Certificate. Any experience or qualifications in housing or construction, such as NEBOSH Construction would be beneficial but not essential. You'll also have:

  • Significant experience providing expert occupational health and safety advice within the property or construction industry 
  • A track record in reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and recommending best practices
  • Confidence in classifying incidents and leading incident investigations
  • Creative thinking to develop engaging safety training and workshops
  • Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, building positive and trusted relationships
  • Comfortable prioritising workloads and working with accuracy and attention to detail
