HR Manager; Preston (other locations considered): 6 month contract; £34ph paye; Inside IR35.
We currently have a great opportunity for a HR Manager join a team working for a prestigious aerospace and defence company. Whilst this role is based in Preston the client is open to candidates from other areas of the UK, but you must be able to attend meetings once a month in Preston. There may also be a requirement for the post holder to travel to other UK sites.
As an individual in the HR Generalist Discipline, the role holder will focus on the following:
Uses a deep understanding of line of business or sector and stakeholder management skills to implement change
Analyses line of business or sector people data and feeds into the CoE, to benchmark and to implement short- and long-term solutions that improve performance, demonstrating value add
Contributes to the identification of opportunities for increased efficiency and synergy across the Company through enterprise-wide knowledge sharing, as part of CoE driven steering/working groups
Drives engagement with critical business processes, with the support of by tools e.g. Success Factors, and positions (shares) communications, developed by the CoEs, with the business to enable people activities
Delivers high quality, accurate and efficient end to end support to internal customers
Works across line of business or sector strategic leadership, management and other partners to deploy integrated Business-focussed solutions.
This role is typically aligned to a Technical / Specialist career pathway therefore whilst the role may have line management responsibilities, the core focus of the role is providing subject matter expertise and / or technical skills and delivering value primarily through individual contribution.
Core Duties
May lead a team of other HR professionals.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and provides support to area of the business based on expertise.
Manages functional and business projects.
Leads on information sharing, the identification of corrective action
Acts as a reliable source of a technique or skill.
Ensures high levels of accuracy.
Provides operational advice on a range of people issues.
Analyses data to identify trends and implications and leads on local action to address these.
Operates in a manufacturing, unionised, project-based organisation.
Influences and coaches’ others in line with business priorities.
While unlikely to have direct responsibility of budgets, may hold headcount or internal budgets for their team.
Suggests and provides guidance on the people budgeting agenda.
Works closely with Senior Leads/Partners and Heads of and delegates responsibilities to Advisors and/or Associates.
Professional with a comprehensive knowledge of People functional and business matters.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Previous generalist HR experience, with some business partnering skills
Previous experience of supporting HRBP’s and line managers
Comprehensive HR knowledge
Project based experience
Ability to analyse data
Human Resources or related subject degree (Preferred)
Associate member of the CIPD or working towards or equivalent (Preferred).
