HR Lead - £55,000 - £60,000 - one year maternity leave contract

An award-winning Design based studio is looking for an HR Lead to join them on a fixed term contract, starting in June 2024. This is a full-time position, working from the studio in Islington, one day can be remote working. Hours: 9:00- 5:30

A standalone role, requiring HR strategy and leadership skills as well as providing the day to day running of employment relationships and the employee lifecycle. The successful candidate with need to be able to demonstrate sound working knowledge of all HR areas preferably gained within a design led/creative/architecture setting. An accreditation from CIPD at either Associate or Chartered Member Level is needed; as well as a strong knowledge of UK employment laws, regulations and HR best practices. Collaborating closely with the senior leadership team and managers, responsibilities are varied and include:

First point of contact for all HR related queries

Managing the HR budget

Participating in HR networks and attending forums

Preparing employment contracts

Lead and manage all termination of employment

Lead communications on employment engagement and encouraging a supportive and inclusive working environment

Develop and deliver HR strategy

Lead the development of the employer brand working closely with the marketing team

Design and deliver the recruitment strategy, collaborating with the resource team

Exploring channels of recruitment and creating job advertisements

Managing visa and sponsorship process

Point of contact for candidates’ enquiries and communication

Develop and implement performance review processes

Coordinate the review cycle, working closely with managers to set clear actions and goals

Responsible for grievance handling and overseeing and managing the resolution

Develop and manage the onboarding process

Develop training plans to support individual and team growth

Stay up to date with RIBA CPD guidance and ensure training sessions cover the RIBA’s core topics

Develop and manage the mentoring program

Develop and deliver leadership training for employee development and promotion

Lead the annual salary review process

Review, develop and manage the benefit and compensation package

Establish a recognition program to celebrate employee achievements, milestones, and contributions

Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures and the HR Handbook ensuring consistency and compliance

Keep up to date with UK employment laws and regulations, ensuring the HR practices are compliant and align with legal requirements

Ensure HR activities follow best practice and meet employment and data protection laws

Reporting to the board to help inform board decision making

Data collection to monitor and report of recruitment metrics and employee turnover

Embed EDI practices into all HR policies and procedures

Promote diversity initiatives.

Build and maintain links with schools and universities to provide access to work experience, apprenticeships, training, and development for underrepresented groups
