HR Business Partner
  • Annual Salary: £50,000

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our public sector team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee relations and a passion for developing and implementing HR strategies that support our organisation’s goals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as a strategic partner to departmental leaders, providing guidance on all aspects of HR including policy interpretation, employee relations, performance management, and employee development.
  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to bridge the divide between management and employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to ensure consistent application of policies across the organisation.
  • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations and familiarity with public sector HR practices.
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
