HR Assistant 
  • Job Type: Part time and term time only
  • Location: Staines
  • Salary: FTE = £26,000 - £29,000

I am recruiting for a proficient and committed HR Assistant to play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of my clients HR department. The successful applicant will be integral to the team, bringing an understanding of HR principles and practice, learning agility, and excellent interpersonal, organisational, and accuracy skills.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Fulfil administration tasks related to staff recruitment, including preparing recruitment packs for teaching and support staff positions.
  • Co-ordinate and support recruitment events/interviews, ensuring venues are set up according to requirements, including catering arrangements and equipment setup.
  • Assist in the induction and probation monitoring of staff.
  • Support with safer recruitment checks, pre-employment checks, and new employee onboarding.
  • Assist with maintaining the Academy’s Single Central Record and updating staff and contractor changes.
  • Provide HR administration support including drafting offer letters, contracts, and employment references.
  • Create and maintain confidential personnel files and report changes to the CFO and HR Manager.
  • Support Line Managers with the annual Performance and Appraisal process.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange HR meetings and maintain records of sickness absence, annual leave, maternity leave, and other absences.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work to and achieve tight and/or changing deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work.
  • Commitment to maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
