Reed are proud to be working in conjunction with a homeless charity in Manchester that provides direct support to people referred to the service. The charity is seeking an experienced housing support worker to join their team.

 

As a housing support worker, you will be:

• Supporting those referred to service to develop and learn to live independently. This will include helping to develop life skills, supporting during benefits claims, budgeting and helping the clients to access local services and projects.

• To plan and create individually tailored support plans that reflect on the client at the centre to ensure this best enables them to achieve their success. You will additionally work in a multi-agency approach to ensure that the client is best supported and be an advocate for the client

• To work in line with charities policy and procedures; where appropriate refer client to safeguarding hub and report any safeguarding concerns.

• To provide detailed and accurate information and ensure this upload to the in-house system and provide monthly updates on each client's progress

• As appropriate be part of the team that supports in drop-in centre, complete reception duties and attend fundraising events.

 

To be suitable for the role of a housing support worker, you will need to:

  •  You must be educated to GSCE level and have strong communication skills in written and verbal. You must be IT literate and able to use systems to input data
  •  Have previous experience in supporting homeless services and be confident in lone working and able to safely manage rapidly changing situations
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and ensure you maintain clear and professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality.
  •  You must be open-minded and respectful of each of the client’s unique circumstances
  •  The charity holds a Christian ethos and principles, you must be open to work as part of a faith organisation and be respectable of the faith of others.
  • You must hold a UK driver's licence and have access to your own vehicle

     

Perks of the role

• A salary of £24,500 to £27,000 depending on experience

• A base of 30 days excluding public and bank holidays
