Seven Resourcing are currently looking for a Housing Caseworker to work within Wiltshire Council. We are looking for someone with experience of housing advice and homelessness casework, including decision-making and letter-writing. The Housing Solutions Team is responsible for ensuring that everyone has access to a sustainable and secure home.

Some Key Information is Highlighted Below:

Rate: £16 per hour.

(Rate can be negotiable based on experience ranging from £16-£28 per hour for those with several years' evidenced experience of complex homeless cases)

Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 3 years' experience in a similar role.

Compliance: 2 years references & Enhanced DBS

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently

Rundown of the role:

  • As Housing Caseworker, you will work in a busy and challenging environment; giving bespoke housing advice to customer via telephone during office hours, and help customers to find holistic, creative and practical housing solutions to maximising independence and minimising care and support needs.
  • You will engage and empower customers to identifying and making appropriate housing choice, and make appropriate and lawful housing needs assessments and homelessness decision-making

About you:

  • You should be customer focused, empathetic and creative, with a commitment to working in partnership with internal and external contacts to ensure a high quality and efficient service.
  • You will have knowledge of landlord, tenant and homelessness law policies, and procedures, along with experience of managing a demanding caseload and carrying out home visits and investigations.
  • We will look to you to be highly literate and have excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills and a natural aptitude for dealing with any situation.
  • Today's economic climate makes this a very challenging time for the service and you will be using your professional skills and experience to develop innovative solutions and options to help prevent homelessness.
