The organisationIn this Homeless Support Officer opportunity in Coventry, you will join charity helping vulnerable adults, gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless The role Is to help customers manage their own money accordingly to maintain their tenancy longer term.
In this Homeless Support Officer job, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting customers with housing support - applying for housing benefits / universal credit
- Dealing with rent arras / evictions when needed / service charge
- Encouraging customers to sustain a long term tenancy at the end of their stay - helping them apply for jobs / getting back Into college / learning how to budget appropriately
- Carrying out routine health and safety / well-being checks
- Also helping signpost to other agencies to help with mental health / substance misuse / domestic violence
- Proven track record of working within supported housing / homelessness
- Able to work flexibly over 8am-8pm during the week
- Proven track record of working In a homeless service before - dealt with a caseload and support sessions
- A valid DBS child and adult cleared Issued within 12 months or on the update service skills & experience
